tts-1: Technology for Teaching Science

The first Oundle Day Conference, for
Secondary and College Science Teachers

at OUNDLE SCHOOL, Peterborough

(*) This event was originally sceduled for Monday 24th September 2001
- a convenient date
for Oundle School (CCF Field Day and no lessons), but it proved too early
in the
school year for teachers to get themselves organised to come in sufficient numbers.

TTS-1 (Technology for Teaching Science)
is a teacher training initiative based at Oundle School, Peterborough,
organised by the iCT Training Centre (Oundle). This follows a series of successful technology days for
mathematics (TSM) and music (TTM) over the past 9 years.

A team of experienced tutors has been assembled to run these workshops and seminars.

H - PowerPoint Workshop for Science Teachers
A practical session to introduce the scientific use of PowerPoint, led by someone who regularly enlivens his lessons with simulations and animations

I - "It's Chemistry", "It's Physics", "It's Biology" - self-assessment tests
From MMT's range of AS/A level CDs covering ten subjects, these titles enable students to revise at their own speed and to check their understanding of key facts determined by the three highly experienced authors. The CDs are already in use in over 2000 schools and colleges.
