From 1994 to 2000, the TSM training days were offered in a one-day format,
giving delegates typically 3-4 hours to get to grips with using mathematical ICT.
This is the 6th residential TSM Workshop, allowing much more time to practise and reflect,
running in 2 STRANDS, each offering 6 hours of supervised instruction with worksheets:
A: the mathematical aspects of MS Office (including Excel) and Computer Algebra Systems
B: The Dynamic Classroom (Autograph, GSP and Cabri)

A2 - Putting Excel to work (beginners/intermediate)

How to get started with Excel, creating sequences, graphs and charts, filling down, formulae and text. Simple simulations.

A3 - Excel for Statistics and Data Handling

Excel is a powerful and dynamic tool for investigating and demonstrating mathematics and basic statistics.

A4 - Excel for advanced users

This workshop will look at some of the advanced features of Excel and how they can be used to create interactive and dynamic resources for use in the classroom or for independent learning.

We will look at features such as conditional formatting, slider bars, buttons and option boxes, named and dynamic ranges and data validation as well as including an introduction to the Macro recorder and Visual Basic for Applications.

You can explore recording and using simple Macros or delve into more advanced coding. There will be plentiful examples and a chance to work on an idea of your own.

Exploring the new TI Nspire - in calculator form and software, to cover a wide range of secondary topics, with an emphasis on problem solving.
